প্রফেসর ড. আব্দুল কারিম বাক্কার ১৯৫১ খ্রিস্টাব্দে সিরিয়ার হিমস শহরে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। পড়াশোনা করেছেন মিসরের আল-আযহার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে। সেখান থেকেই অনার্স, মাস্টার্স (ডাবল) ও ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে৷ পেশাগত জীবনে তিনি অধ্যাপনা করেছেন সাউদি আরবের ইমাম মুহাম্মাদ বিন সুউদ ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি, কিং খালিদ ইউনিভার্সিটি ও আরব ওপেন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে। শিক্ষা, পড়াশোনা, ইসলামি চিন্তা ও গবেষণার ওপর ড. আব্দুল কারিম বাক্কার রচনা করেছেন প্রায় অর্ধশত গ্রন্থ৷ শিক্ষকতা পেশায় নিয়োজিত ছিলেন দীর্ঘ ২৬ বছর৷ এরপর তিনি পূর্ণ মনোযোগ দেন লেখালেখি ও নানারকম সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে। লাভ করেছেন বহু আন্তর্জাতিক সংস্থার সদস্যপদ। টেলিভিশনের বিভিন্ন প্রোগ্রামেও তার পদচারণা রয়েছে৷ বর্তমানে তিনি সাউদি আরবের রাজধানী রিয়াদে বসবাস করছেন। ২০১৯ সালে সমকালীন প্রকাশন থেকে প্রফেসর ড. আব্দুল কারিম বাক্কারের ‘জীবন পথে সফল হতে বইটি প্রকাশিত হয়েছে।
